Our Story

Our real dog pretending to chase the metal rooster and metal goat at Grumpy Goat Farms farm life in North Dallas

Welcome to Grumpy Goat Farms

We’re Mark and Dyann, the people behind Grumpy Goat Farms — a North Texas virtual farmstand built around fresh food, local delivery, and a little bit of farm-fueled whimsy.  Mark is a carpenter who can build or fix just about anything (including the farm stand he’s currently designing). Dyann is a chef who believes everything tastes better when it’s made from scratch, with love, and a generous sprinkle of whimsy. After years of fast-paced urban living, we bought our little slice of countryside to slow down, breathe deep, and figure out what really matters. Turns out, it’s good food, a good dog, and good mornings spent in the dirt.

Our very spoiled, ten-year-old dog had other plans for the animal side of things. He’s made it crystal clear that any creature with feathers, hooves, or four legs is strictly off-limits — and he’s not afraid to prove it. So instead of goats (yes, we still get asked), we grow what he can’t chase: vibrant microgreens, gourmet mushrooms, and whatever else fits in a grow room or under a hoop house.

But we’re not stopping at greens. Grumpy Goat Farms is morphing into a virtual farmstand straight from our kitchen and garden to your door. Think pantry staples made with real ingredients, small-batch infused syrups that turn ordinary drinks into something special, over-the-top cookies, and all the baked goods Dyann dreams up on any given Tuesday. If it’s delicious, seasonal, and made with care, it’s probably headed to the shop.

We’re not a big commercial operation. We’re just two people (plus one very opinionated dog) doing what we love on a scale that still feels like home. Every jar, every bunch of greens, and every over-the-top cookie is grown, baked, or stirred up right here — with the same care we’d use if you were sitting at our table.

Thanks for stopping by our little corner of the internet. We’re so glad you’re here.

Small farm. Big flavor. Zero goats (for safety reasons).
